Runes and Ranks in Chess Incremental
Luck, Speed, Bulk, Rank rolls, and why codes exist.
The Roblox page for Chess Incremental tells you to roll Runes and Ranks, then level them up. Codes exist almost entirely to feed that loop. Tickets buy extra potions. Potions last fifteen minutes. Like and Favorite add Rune Speed and Rune Luck without a timer. If you treat runes as a side toy, you will hit Prestige 1 on raw ChessSpeed and then stall.

The three potions
Rune Luck improves roll quality. Drink it when you are about to spend a block of time opening runes, not while you walk the plaza.
Rune Speed improves how fast rune actions complete. The shop sells a concrete example: Grant x1.5 Rune Speed for 15 minutes. That is the clearest published multiplier in the game. Rune Bulk improves how many runes you process per action. Drink it with Speed when you can stay at the gem for the full window.
All three drop from codes in 1x, 2x, or 3x bundles. 100KVisits is the fattest live bundle. Do not vendor them for curiosity clicks at 2K Chess.
When to open a window
A 15-minute potion is a calendar event, not a passive. Sit down, disable chat if it covers the gem, and roll. If you have to leave at minute four, you donated the remaining eleven minutes. The prestige checklist is a good trigger: open potions only when you are also pushing the 100K Chess bar, so rune levels and ChessSpeed climb in the same session.
Like and Favorite bonuses run underneath potions. They are the reason group perks is not optional flavor. Toggle them once, then forget they exist.
Ranks
Ranks are the second roll axis on the store page. The crowned hotbar icon is the practical entry. Ranks are for long-term identity and multipliers, not for skipping ChessSpeed. Leveling runes and ranks after you own them is the quieter half of the loop. Do not reroll a decent rune just because a new code arrived. Codes give potions, not a mandate to delete your board.
Tickets versus Robux
The shop sells potions for Robux and for Tickets. Switch to Tickets. That toggle is why Exclusive Codes matter. Gifting lets you send shop items; it is not a rune reroll. If you are out of Tickets, earn Chess and wait for the next milestone code instead of impulse-buying Robux x10 Speed.
Common rune mistakes
Rolling without Luck. Rolling on mobile with the gem panel half off-screen. Drinking Bulk while you have no Speed. Spending Tickets on a pass you will not use this week. Treating Frog as a rune unlock — it is 42 Tickets and one of each potion, listed on working codes.
After a rebalance
Rune weights can change. The expired REBALANCE code existed because 3Face actually retuned. After a patch, reread rebalance notes before you dump a 15-minute Luck stack into a nerfed family. The upgrade guide still comes first if Chess income itself is the bottleneck.
Runes do not replace prestige. They make the 100K climb less stupid. Keep both pages open when you plan a long session: this one and prestige.
